WebMar 8, 2024 · That's pretty much The Bottom Line right there. Ghost Rings aren't "bad", but they are much more useful for "tactical" (offensive) purposes than for H.D. (defensive) purposes. They also aren't precise enough to be a really good "slug" sight, they are just too big and vague, but they are better than a bead. WebSep 4, 2006 · Choice of sights on a shotgun is one of those things that's really up to the individual shooter to determine. Every shooter's needs will vary, some can do fine with a bead (or even without one, I have seen a good many shotguns that were missing beads that didn't seem to bother the shooter at all). Others need more as far as sights go.
