WebFeb 1, 1996 · Am running G5RV off 45 ft. metal mast w/out standoffs, except it (feedline) is out away from mast at apex at about 40-45 degree angle. It works great. Windom--plan to put one up at my summer place and would appreciate any info. (specs) on the one you are using or plan to use. Length, suggested height, what type of feedline--open latter or other? WebUse an old AM radio and look for switching power supplies and wall warts in your house. Problem is the whole shebang is an antenna with that setup - move the tuner to the feedpoint of the antenna (at the ladder line), put a choke on the coax at the tuner and then run the coax back to your rig. Should help a lot.
